INS 4.4 Use external API ingestion

Recordings can also be submitted programmatically, so a call recorded elsewhere is analysed without anyone uploading a file.

  1. Select Settings, then expand Integration.
  2. Read the POST endpoint. It is on your own subdomain, in the form https://<your-subdomain>/insights.api/api/v1/request-metadata/external.
  3. Send the audio using one of two alternatives, one of which is required:
  4. voice_file, the audio as binary form data.
  5. audio_url, a link to hosted audio.
  6. Optionally include payload as a JSON object.
  7. Set Content-Type to multipart/form-data.
  8. Where the values are available and approved, include the common payload keys:
  9. caller_name, the caller or customer name.
  10. callee_name, the agent or callee name.
  11. After submission, watch Files and Call for the ingested record and its analysis.

Send callee_name on every request. It is the API equivalent of the Agent field on the upload form, and omitting it produces the same unassigned calls (see INS 5.2).

Use Copy to clipboard rather than retyping the endpoint. The Integration panel offers it for the method, the endpoint and the request example.
